The sediment sampler add-on for the Stealth2 ROV is a pneumatically powered soil sampler, with a rotating carousel. The carousel holds up to three sample jars. There are two varieties of sample jars: The single, which contains a 2 inch (inner diameter) tube and the triple, which contains three 3/4 inch (inner diameter) sample tubes. The sediment sampler was designed for soft soil, and will take a sample up to 6.5 inches deep depending on sampling conditions and hardness of soil.
The sediment sampler has been designed for easy installation and removal from the Stealth
ROV.
