ROVs AROUND THE WORLD
ROV’s from Shark Marine Technologies Inc. continue to impress in all parts of the world.
The fourth quarter of 2007 saw Shark Marine Technologies deliver advanced ROV systems to organizations in China, Russia, Canada, France and the United States. For applications in harbour security and search and rescue operations, the Marine Unit of the Toronto Police Service purchased a Stealth2 ROV equipped with such features as hi-res colour and extreme low-light black and white cameras, a dual function manipulator and an advanced BlueView multibeam sonar system. Two Stealth2 ROVs were sold to China; the first for security applications in the 2008 Olympics and the second to the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute (CRSRI) for use in water resource related applications. In 2008, more Stealth2 ROV systems are being shipped to Chinese organizations. Additional Stealth2 ROV units went out to France and the Naval Undersea Warfare Centre (NUWC) in the U.S.
Podvodservis in Russia, was shipped a Seawolf ROV to use for underwater pipeline and cable tracking. Their Seawolf was loaded with dual cameras, a laser scaling unit and a scanning sonar and tracking system. The Seawolf is a multipurpose ROV that eclipses the strength of the Stealth2, offering a much larger payload capacity for applications demanding much more power.
Shark Marine Technologies specializes in ROV design and underwater technology.
